Flying Site

 

Loma Bola is a mountain sports center, focused primarily on paragliders. Over 20 years of experience, we are pioneers in this activity, that it allows us to invite the public to a unique experience, enjoy guided flights and outdoor activities.

Loma Bola is considered an ideal launch because of its location and excellent weather conditions that allow you flying all year long with great confidence. Many flight schools operate there and it also hosts a lot of national and international events.

Loma Bola is a Nature Reserve Adventures in paragliding which ranks first as activities for their benefits of location, accessibility and flight conditions throughout the year with great confidence.

 

Flying Conditions

 

The flying area is centered some 15 km to the west of the city of San Miguel de Tucumán. The type of climate is subtropical with dry season. During the time of the event, the maximum temperatures will average above 30°C and the minimum temperatures will average above 15°C.

The takeoff in Loma Bola has enough space for 5 – 6 pilots take off simultaneously. The entire surface has a very comfortable lawn sloping to cancel a takeoff at the last minute without consequences. It has a height of 800 mts and spring cloud base at about 1200 m above takeoff are achieved. Prevailing winds 5 to 18 km / h are from the South – Southeast and thermals has an average of 3 m/s.

How to get

 

To get to San Miguel de Tucuman from Ezeiza International Airport you can take a taxi or a bus to the Buenos Aires city and then go to the Retiro bus station or take a flight at the Jorge Newbery airport to San Miguel de Tucuman.

In San Miguel de Tucuman.
If you arrive to the Bus Station in San Miguel de Tucumán by land, you can take a taxi to the HQ for about $750 AR (u$s6).
If you take a plane, will arrive at the Benjamin Matienzo International Airport. There you can take a taxi to the HQ, it costs about $1200 Argentines (u$s10).

Practice days

The practice days are open to all competing pilots.
Pilots have to register before October 1st on the organizer website.

A Practice Fee of 15€ / day will be paid cash. The Practice Fee includes transportation to take-off,
live-trackers, assistance at take-off, retrieve, lunch packs, on-site emergency rescue and first aid
medical service.
Practice days will be available between October 28th to 30th.
The Meet Director or his assistant will brief on specific flying areas, but no task will be set. Retrieval
will take place according to a predetermined time, axis and/or location.
Use of the organizers’ live-trackers is mandatory
